Friends of the Parks

The Friends of the Parks was formed in November 2002 after a period of public consultation. The aim of the group is to “Conserve and enhance the environment of Valley Park and Knightwood Park for the benefit of the community. The group consists of local volunteers of all ages and to date they have carried out over 40 work parties. Past tasks have included coppicing, hedge laying, bulb, wild flower and tree planting, Rhododendron and Sycamore management. There is always more work to be done and new volunteers, including families, are always welcome. All tools, equipment and training is provided free.
