Welcome to Transition Chandlers Ford

Changes lie ahead for all of us.

These include various effects of a changing climate, fossil fuel (oil, gas and coal) depletion – “peak oil”, the economic crisis, human population growth, environmental damage and loss of wildlife species.

For the last 50 years, our world has been based on cheap oil which will soon be much less available. We can’t carry on as usual – even if we wanted to.

The Transition movement is where local people take the initiative in preparing for changes ahead. Lots of towns are now part of the Transition Network; that is our intention for Chandlers Ford.

We aim to harness local knowledge, interests, hobbies, skills – and networks of friends – to support and help our local community to be better able to withstand the coming challenges.
